Sec. Cardona Travels to Vermont with Sen. Bernie Sanders to Visit Two Elementary Schools

On Friday, Nov. 19, 2021, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona will travel to Burlington, Vermont where he will join U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders to visit two elementary schools. First, he will visit a pre-k program at Sustainability Academy at Lawrence Barnes to underscore the importance of early childhood education. Then he will visit Champlain Elementary School where he will speak to afterschool teachers, visit a COVID-19 student vaccine clinic, and encourage students and families to get vaccinated. During the tour, Secretary Cardona will learn more about Burlington School District’s commitment to inoculating all eligible students, including children ages 5-11 who are being served by the on-site clinic.
