Giggles & Wiggles Preschool received a mini grant from Defending the Early Years to create a Parent/Teacher Library. The purpose of this project is to supply parents and teachers with various books and resources on play-based learning to increase the knowledge in our community. Giggles & Wiggles Preschool is a private play-based, child-led preschool – other preschools in the area are academic based, so we wanted to have information available to families for a more in-depth knowledge of play-based preschool.
Currently, staff at Giggles & Wiggles are very excited and have been reading and utilizing the library. The library is just now being opened to parents and families of children attending Giggles & Wiggles Preschool. We hope to make this library accessible to staff at the public school (mostly to the kindergarten and preschool teachers) and other preschools in the area in the near future. We are very thankful to DEY for funding this program!
