This bill lists the requirements, finances, and important dates for the early childhood mental health consultation and referral pilot program in Arizona. The program is meant to support the emotional well being of children not yet in kindergarten, including prevention, early identification and reduction of challenging behaviors, improving the capacity of teaching staff and caregivers to manage the emotional climate of the learning environment and build the skills and capacity of early childhood education professionals and caregivers. Regarding finances: The sum of $2,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in each of fiscal years 2021‑2022, 2022‑2023, 2023‑2024, 2024‑2025 and 2025‑2026 to the department of economic security for the early childhood mental health consultation and referral pilot program established by this section.
