Known by many as Illinois AEYC, our organization is Illinois’ largest early childhood professional organization with over 1550 members. Since 1969, the organization’s volunteer members have successfully dedicated their time and efforts to improving the education and lives of young children in their own communities and throughout the state.
Mission: All young children will reach their full potential.
Vision: Illinois AEYC advances high quality learning for all children birth through age 8 by promoting practice, policy and research to support all families and professionals.
Goals:
- Mobilize and educate the early childhood community to advocate for young children.
- Educate the public regarding the value to the community of children, families and early childhood professionals.
- Enhance the professional development of Illinois AEYC Members
- Improve the quality of early childhood programs, through collaboration, by enhancing the knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices among professionals
- Empower families as the child’s first teacher
