Pilot program to increase recess time continues.
In 2020, parents in Montgomery County, Maryland asked the county for a pilot program increasing recess time, with the goal to increase recess time in all elementary schools in the county and hopefully middle schools as well.
Two years into the pandemic, parents are again asking the country to revisit the pilot program.

Board of Ed member Lynne Harris asked the county to revisit the pilot program and pushed for continuing it in the pilot schools! It’s a great first step to getting the program implemented at ALL elementary schools (and hopefully middle schools)!
