New Mexico Kids Matter “advocates for children who’ve been abused or neglected by empowering community volunteers to speak up for them in the foster care system. Ensuring that every child grows up in a safe, nurturing and permanent home.” The organization helps appoint CASA’s (Court Appointed Special Advocate), a court appointed trained adult, who helps ensure that each child’s individual needs remain a priority in the child welfare system. This includes getting to know each child by talking to parents, teachers and adults, and safely helping children through the system. The organization can also help adults get CASA training.
