Some Oregon school districts let top administrators, office employees who don’t work with children sign up for vaccine appointments

This article discusses the ways in which COVID vaccines have been given to individuals who are working in schools but not working directly with children, and how the system that determines vaccination qualifications “asks users if they work for a local school and in what capacity, but does not interrogate them on whether they regularly come into contact with children.” The article mentions how it is recommended that those working in schools and are not coming into contact with students should hold off on scheduling vaccine appointments. However, this is not an enforced suggestion and individuals in these positions are still able to make appointments (ahead of seniors and other teachers as well).
