The Child Development Institute believes in a progressive perspective on child development and education, which prioritizes the child’s social, emotional, and imaginative aspects of life in facilitating intellectual development. They accomplish this through the Empowering Teachers Program, The Learning Child Series, lectures, and publications, The Institute collaborates with Sarah Lawrence’s Early Childhood Center, psychology faculty and graduate programs in Child Development and the Art of Teaching.
