This article discusses the ways in which people of color, particularly Hispanic adults, were more likely to report higher stress levels due to the pandemic, and how this has then affected latino children. In times of high stress and mental health for children, schools are “often the first line of defense” in receiving mental health services. However, with schools closed and inequities in access to online learning, many latino children are experiencing greater emotional tolls, stress and trauma, with potential for long-lasting ramifications.
