Led by Amy Geurden, the team at Child Care Resource and Referral Inc in Kimberly, Wisconsin,  planned a Saturday storytime event that included 2 sessions. Each session included a book reading and a craft as well as a snack for families. While the children read books, the families had the opportunity to work with a CCR&R staff to write letters to legislators regarding the issues they face with child care.

32 kids and 35 families attended. Families attended together even with some grandparents attending with them. 16 letters were written and hand-delivered to legislators. The only hurdle that we faced was we had planned for a number of families and had 14 families sign up the night before, but it was easily fixed with a little extra prep time.

Families were able to share stories to advocate for themselves and their children!
